Fall Fun for Little Ones

by admin979

Fall is my favorite time of year! The weather is cooler (at least it should be soon), and there are many great family-friendly activities! Here are some of my favs that I know you and your little ones will love.

Go, Apple Picking

Apple is one of the top flavors of fall, and picking your apples is such an easy, family-friendly activity! Most apple farms offer many other fun activities, like wagon rides, corn mazes, and playgrounds. Make sure you research your nearby apple farms online to determine which is right for your family.

Visit a Pumpkin Patch

Nothing says fall like a trip to a pumpkin patch! We usually go in early October, so there’s still lots of selection. Some pumpkin patches are like outdoor stores, while others allow you to go out into the patch and choose your pumpkin right off the vine.

Attend a Fall Fair or Harvest Festival

We are lucky enough to live in an area with a fall fair almost every weekend between labor day and Halloween. If you’ve never been to a fall fair, I recommend you go! Everyone is a little different, but most offer many activities, animals, food, and competitions. There’s tons of fun to be had!

Go on a Hike and see the Leaves.

The fall is a pretty time to get out and explore, especially when the leaves start changing. So, pack a picnic (or at least a snack) and visit your favorite park or trail to enjoy the view and the nice crisp air. Maybe your little one will even be able to jump in a pile of leaves or two.

Go on a Haunted Hayride

This one is for slightly older kids (although many have less scary versions for little ones), but a haunted hayride is fun. It combines the fun of Halloween and harvest festivals into one spooktacular evening.

Neighborhood Trick-or-Treat days

Halloween is sooo much fun but can sometimes be a bit much for little ones. Most cities and shopping malls offer some kind of daytime trick-or-treat activity where the shops hand out candy to little ones in costume. This is a great way to allow your toddler to have some trick-or-treat fun in a less scary environment.

There are endless ways to enjoy the fall with your kiddos; these are just a few of my favs! What are some of your fall time favs?
