The activity most associated with Daytona Beach is motorsports and, of course, beach vacations. No motorized vehicles are allowed, except emergency vehicles or transport for people with disabilities. The Clearwater Marine Aquarium is an important resource for the region and has educational programs and research facilities. In addition to resident marine life, the Clearwater Beach aquarium operates a rescue program for injured or diseased animals. They are brought back to health and, if possible, returned to the wild.
